The Goals of Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Abstract
This article reviews the literature on the goals of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The authors define and elaborate several dimensions of goals suggested by a phenomenologic affinity of the data, and discuss the clinical and clinical-research significance of this compilation.
