Dr. Thomas M. French is not only a clinical psychoanalyst but a distinguished investigator in his field. For over three decades he has been associated with the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, most of which time he has been a director of research. Following his major role in the early psychosomatic research of the Chicago school, Doctor French became interested in the problems of integration of behavior, about which he has published three volumes of distinguished research from 1952 to 1958.

In the present volume Doctor French returns to the problem of dream interpretation and delineates his new approach with a directness and elegancy which makes it understandable for practical use.
