Szurek and Berlin, through their Langley Porter Child Psychiatry Series which includes five volumes (of which this book is the fourth), have made an important contribution to the burgeoning literature covering child and adolescent psychiatry. Their abliity to express themselves in language understandable to many professions in no way detracts from the very high caliber of the presentations. In addition, the organizational plan of the authors of concentrating all papers pertinent to a particular subject in each of their books avoids the distressing lack of conformity and continuity encountered so often in books composed of contributions by multiple authors or in those that are composed of collections of papers written by one author.
