CORRECTION

Arch Gen Psychiatry. 1977;34(5):615.

Since this article does not have an abstract, we have provided the first 150 words of the full text PDF and any section headings.

Incorrect POMS Scale.—In the articles, "The Effect of Lithium Carbonate on Affect, Mood, and Personality of Normal Subjects," published in the March Archives (34:346-351, 1977), and "Lithium Carbonate and Ethanol Induced 'Highs' in Normal Subjects," published in the April Archives (34:463-467, 1977), reference was erroneously made to the Profile of Mood States (POMS) Scale "Frustration." The correct name for the scale is "Fatigue."

In the March issue, on page 347, under "Protocol—Morning Test Battery—Profile of Mood States (POMS)," the last sentence of that paragraph should read "The items can be analyzed individually or grouped for analysis (Tension, Depression, Anger, Vigor, Fatigue, and Confusion scales)." In this same article, on page 348, under "Results," the sentence starting on line 13, second column, should read "Furthermore, these effects were strong enough to result in significantly elevated scores on both the POMS Tension Scale (P=.04) and on the POMS Fatigue Scale (P=.02)." . . .
